  • I am an Orthodox Christian who lives in Windsor, Ontario and worships in St Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church. I have been listening (learning) during last few weeks to Fr. Evan's lectures on 55 maxims of late Fr. Hopko. Needless to say, I felt while listening to them, as part of St. Spyridon community . Small town America and Canada give me a special warm feeling, of people, who stick together, take care of each other and live simply, without the distractions that big cities offer. One thing I always envied people who live near the mountains or the seas. They have the sense of magnitude looking at the nature's (God's) majesty protecting them in their small communities. May He and his Blessed Mother keep you and protect you! Christ Is Risen!

  • As a recently-baptized member of the Orthodox Church, I am blessed to call St. Spyridon's my home.

Setting aside the question of whether or not Orthodoxy is the One, True Church (it is, but that's another issue), there is something special about St. Spyridon's. I have been in a lot of churches of numerous denominations, and the pastor is usually very heavy on "friendliness" and not so strong on theology (scholastically and living it as an example), or the other way around. Very rarely does one find a place where the pastor is strong in all the important and relevant areas.

St. Spyridon's is such a place. Fr. Evan Armatas, who's podcasts (Transforming our Lives Through Christ and Orthodoxy, Live respectively) on Ancient Faith Radio clearly demonstrate his vast theological knowledge, is truly a "parish priest" at heart. He won't beat you over the head with difficult theological concepts until he knows your heart is in the right place -- because that's what matters more.

In addition to a wonderful priest, St. Spyridon's is a community of people who genuinely care about one another. Many who have come from various Protestant backgrounds can attest to the brokenness in many churches and, as a result, appear to make the best efforts to avoid those problems here in the humblest way possible.

If you're in Northern Colorado, St. Spyridon's is the place to be.

  • As someone that isn't affiliated with any specific faith, I often jump around between places of worship to see what they're like. St. Spyridon Orthodox Church has proven to be a favorite of mine. It's a warm, welcoming church that has a hospitable clergy and community. The community really is what makes this place a gem; in my single visit they made me feel more welcome than many churches I've gone to a dozen times. The sermons I have heard have been positive and impactful, just as the service itself has been. In addition, the church works with and donates to a number of charitable organizations, a fact that is very important to me. I would recommend this church to anyone with an interest in attending.

  • A wonderful flock of Christians who are led by a loving and gracious pastor, all of which make up a beautiful Church that enables the sincere believer to encounter and interact with Christ in the profoundest ways as well as be metamorphosed/transfigured into His likeness by the grace received from communing with Him.

  • St. Spyridon is my Church home and the place where I can gather with others to worship and grow in love and faith. The congregation is a mix of converts and life long Orthodox with many young families. All services are in English. We are friendly, not pushy!
